The Salem Numismatic Society of Salem, Oregon has issued a limited edition of special .999 fine silver medals to commemorate our club's 50th Anniversary (1956-2006). A limited quantity of only 225 non-numbered medals were created for public sale, and each one contains 1 ounce of .999 fine silver. The images on this medal appear with a beautiful frosted finish on a proof-like mirror background. The pioneer shown on the medal's obverse stands atop our State Capitol Building, and symbolizes the pioneering spirit of the early settlers of Oregon. Salem has long been known as "The Cherry City", represented by the three cherries hanging from a branch on the reverse side. These silver medals are now on sale for $40.00 each plus $3.95 for shipping and handling while our supply lasts. On orders of two or more, additional shipping is only $1.50 for each additional medal ordered. Note: the non-numbered medals are sold out, and 5 numbered medals remain, which are available for $75 each, plus shipping.
